Repent, Return & Rejoice

In the old days they said a good education consisted of “‘Reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmatic” (Apparently those old days included senile illiterates.) But the Psalms of David show the basis of real wisdom and the best education for life. The real “three R’s” are Repent, Return and Rejoice. Repent means feeling shame for how we have lived and what we have done with what GOD has done but it’s not simply feeling guilty. Judas felt sorry for betraying JESUS, gave back the silver and hung himself but that wasn’t repentance, just guilt. He still dies in his sins. Repentence involves revolving, spinning around 180 degrees, heading away from death and heading back to GOD and Life. That’s the Return. Now we are living (or at least wanting & trying to live) the Life GOD has for us, not in our power but in His. And we can then Rejoice at being forgiven and knowing we have eternal life and purpose, learning about GOD & sharing what He teaches us with others.

David realizes repentance and returning to GOD eliminate our shame and shames enemies when we seek GOD as our LORD & praise Him Psalms 6-8
